C & O Canal

Saturday was a beautiful day so we decided to get out and do some exploring. Nearby in Potomac we found the Chesapeake & Ohio Canal National Park. It is almost 20, 000 acres! Originally constructed for trade purposes in the 1800s it is full of historic dams and buildings but has really become a refuge for nature lovers. The rapids are incredible for kayaking and white water rafting! We took the baby so only sightseeing and a little hiking for us! Next time though...

This morning I made homemade Belgian waffles (thanks Anna for the waffle iron!) with fresh strawberry sauce and all the toppings. David wasn't sure he wanted it...

He helped me clean up with his favorite new toy... Our Dust Buster Vaccuum...

Then decided to try some death defying balancing acts on an empty box of diapers... I know your thinking what a horrible mother I am not to have rushed over and safely helped him down... But come on It really was pretty funny and he "usually" lands on his feet. hehe!

Followed by some light, random reading...

And those were some of the highlights of our raining, sleeting, too-cold to go outside day... Where is Spring???

Fun in the Bookstore

We went out to eat Saturday Evening with Dave's co-worker and his wife. Afterwards we took little David to a concert at the Borders bookstore. We enjoyed coffee and dessert while LD jammed on his mini piano alongside the guest band. He loves music! Afterwards he changed into his PJs and wandered the aisles as his alter ego "Batman"... with bottle in hand of course... b/c what would Batman be without his trusty bottle...

Finally!

Well after much persausion I finally took some time and began our family blog. It isn't much at the moment but little by little I'll get there! I'll try to post daily or weekly updates about what is going on with us and the baby (who is really not a baby anymore) so you can always look in a see what we are up to... Maybe you can make one too so we can see what you are up to!
